Working a creative role in Marketing can take you into any industry — often boring ones! It’s really nice to work with like-minded people with similar interests. We’ve all got a similar attitude towards work as well, which is refreshing. There’s no “junior” “senior” divide or such, you’re just treated like an adult. Even though the team is in and out of office and still growing, we get together regularly and there’s always something to talk about. We get our heads down and work done, and then at the end of the week (or quarter) we’ll have a catch up.
I’ve always been a bit of a tree hugger… Protecting the environment and preserving as much of the natural environment as possible is my highest priority. Only after working for different digitally focused companies did I realise the impact of technology in that mission. Digital tech is really changing the way people view sustainability. It’s never been easier now to live greener without having to compromise too much. I really love that I’m finally in the green space, and energy is pretty central to that!
For a few reasons, working hybrid is a bit of a life saver. As an expat, I’m happy to work here in Germany but of course there are times I’ve needed to be back with family. As a social media manager, I need to be at the office to capture key moments but also might need a day at home to film in peace or get my head into editing. As someone whose mental health can be little up and down, having a welcome office environment for conversation but also the freedom to take a calmer day at home. Companies should recognise that flexibility is fundamental to happy long-term employees.
